As an Academic Advisor, I work with a variety of academic, personal, and developmental issues. My goal is to prepare students for academic success after high school and to create a caring, challenging, and safe environment so the student can develop skills to their fullest potential.

My current role within the Whittier district is to support Puente by utilizing my resources in the Whittier area and encourage students to pursue higher education. I have created connections with businesses and resources in the city to improve our program and I believe my outgoing and professional demeanor contributes to this success. I have also volunteered as a Financial Advisor for The Whole Child since November 2018, where I assist homeless families in the city of Whittier with financial planning in an effort to end the cycle of homelessness in the community. Roles such as these have prepared me to effectively communicate with families that are preparing themselves for the college path and those who are socioeconomically disadvantaged. The topics discussed in each role greatly differ and thus have made me develop skills that allow me to be a more balanced and well-rounded individual that can effectively adapt to different environments.
